Brain Rocket Special Report
Quality + Purity + Potency + Results = Brain Rocket
In this special report we talk primarily about Brain Rocket but we also discuss other ingredients used at Natural Biology which support brain health, particularly those ingredients that are supported by a wealth of research. Natural Biology uses meta-analysis to congregate research and discover useful averages and then expands our research into the orthomolecular model.
Brain Rocket is scientifically engineered to quickly increase the speed of neural
transmission and information processing (perceptual focus, memory storage and
recall), with a prolonged effect of 2-6 hours following each dosage. Active compounds
specially prepared in the exclusive Brain Rocket Formula are supported by clinical
research and have been cited in over 4,050 scientific studies.
Brain Rocket consists of a select group of compounds proven safe in the food supply
over a 10-year period, and every constituent ingredient has been designated as part of
the Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) list by the US government.
Brain Rocket has been manufactured for safety in a fully temperature-controlled USA
GMP & FDA-inspected facility that ensures purity and accuracy of materials through
inspection and evaluation at every step of production and packaging. Product purity &
potency is verified through independent 3rd party analysis, and Brain Rocket is
specially produced to meet or exceed United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards.
Natural Biology Labs has been at the front of brain health since 2001. We were way
ahead of the FDA when our research determined most Americans had a Omega 3
deficiency and this alone can affect mental health – in particular those prone to
depression. Omega 3s are critical to brain health unless you eat a diet high in omega 3
fish and plant life – avocado is one of the best. We also have written dozens of meta-
analysis reports about the value of amino acids in mental health – and we recommend
whey protein as a great source of amino acids for the average person; however, this is
just the beginning of an exciting field – how supplements can dramatically improve brain
Natural Biology has provided products with DHEA, pregnenolone, ginko biloba, DMAE,
polypeptide complexes, and vinpocentine through the years – and we have included
many of these ingredients in our multi-functional products like Med Factors, Zolamay,
OxyAGE, and now most notably EVEREST Earth & Sea Formula. EVEREST Earth &
Sea formula along with an Omega 3 supplements offers an incredible foundation for
brain health – and we hear from customers all the time who tells us how this protocol
has rejuvenated their minds and bodies.
There are also micro-nutrients like resveratrol that we are just beginning to understand
and there is little doubt that it has a positive benefit upon the longevity gene – and thus
aids in mental health. The argument for good supplements and mental health has
never been better.
Today, the pressures at all ages require us to be mentally sharp. We have followed
with great interest brain supplements for the past 9 years – studying products and figuring out what works and what does not. We were not too satisfied that any
company had made a truly great brain supplement. The main reason is they cut
corners in their formulations to save cost and some just base their products on
supplement folklore and not on recent clinical studies and research.
Our research determined a cognitive enhancer should worked quickly – lasted approx. 4
hours – and could be taken prior to any activity that requires increased focus, that was
safe and effective without any side-effects. Thus – Brain Rocket was conceptualized.
Being mentally sharp, staying focused, recalling your memory, being able to
concentrate – all have one thing in common “brain speed” – the ability to “be in the
zone.” Ask any golfer who scores better than their normal average and they will tell you
they found a zone that transcended normal. Ask a great golf who falls apart and they
will tell you they lost their focus. There is a special mind/body connection we all have.
Riding a motorcycle requires focus and a keen sense of your evolving environment.
Students require long periods of concentration. Whatever demands life throws at you at
school, work, or play – Brain Rocket gives you the edge. Here’s how!
Research Report - Cerebral Revitalizer
Over 300 Scientific Studies validate the ingredients in Brain Rocket at these potencies
and particularly at these purity levels...
BIOVINCA VINPOCETINE: The common periwinkle plant has long been used all over the world as a
folk remedy for a variety of diseases such as diabetes, wasp stings, coughs, colds, eye
infections, lung congestion, and especially for headaches. Scientific research has
shown that this plant can indeed have a real effect on physical ailments. In the 1950s,
western researchers examined the periwinkle plant and found that it contains at least 70
useful alkaloids, with one of these, vincamine, being identified as a potent cerebral
In the past few decades, over 300 scientific papers have been published on vincamine
and its actions on animal models as well as humans. Vincamine has been found to be a
cerebral vasodilator, a substance that increases blood flow to the brain. In testing, it was
found that vincamine increases oxygen utilization and dilates blood vessels in the brain.
For years the cerebral vasodilating action of vinpocetine has been used in Europe to
relieve a number of symptoms associated with insufficient blood flow to the brain,
including vertigo, difficulty in sleeping, mood changes, depression, hearing problems,
high blood pressure, and lack of blood flow to the eyes. Most commonly, it has been
used to improve memory defects and concentration problems. Vincamine is a nootropic,
a chemical that increases brain function without side effects. In addition to their popular
use as "smart drugs" that improve memory and concentration, it has been suggested
that routine consumption of nootropics can minimize damage to the brain and the
natural deterioration of brain functions.
In clinical studies, Vincamine has been used to treat the loss or impairment of mental
functions, the effects of stroke, age-related cerebrovascular disease, and tinnitus. The
results of an Austrian study released in 1996 by the Karl Franzens University of Graz
showed that dementia patients treated with vinpocetine scored significantly higher in four
cognitive function tests than those treated with placebo. An Italian study found that
when treated with vincamine, 828 elderly patients from 11 hospitals who had age-
related cerebrovascular insufficiencies showed long-term improvement in mental

BioVinca is a highly specialized form of Vinpocentine that is processed from the
periwinkle plant to an amazing 98% essay of purity. Taken in 30mg increments (3-5
times daily) every 4 hours – there is an impressive amount of meta-analysis and clinical
research that demonstrates how this bio-active micronutrient increases oxygen flow to
the brain. BioVinca at these potencies and purities along with the special cognitive

Cerebral Vasodilator for all Adults
Vinpocetine is a cerebral vasodilator, a substance that improves blood flow
preferentially to the brain. Vinpocetine has been shown to do this by altering the
rheological properties of blood. This makes vinpocetine of particular therapeutic use in
treating a myriad of illnesses associated with insufficient blood flow to the brain. In
addition, vinpocetine is a dependent phosphodiesterase inhibitor. Phosphodiesterase is
responsible for breaking down ATP, the primary energy “currency” of all cells. As this
phosphodiesterase inhibition is specific to the brain, these results in a localized increase
in energy available to neurons.
Brain Rocket is also a Nootropic
In addition, vinpocetine has been found to be a nootropic, a substance that improves
cognitive function in healthy humans. Alone among natural supplements, vinpocetine
has been shown to improve short-term memory in healthy volunteers.
Vinpocetine has received quite a lot of attention from the scientific community: a simple
MEDLINE search turns up over 150 studies on vinpocetine published in medical
journals. Vinpocetine has also received much attention in the popular press, including
an article in the Wall Street Journal.
With the approval of vinpocetine as a dietary supplement by the FDA (July, 1999), and
introduction of vinpocetine products by the largest manufacturers in the dietary
supplement industry, the demand of vinpocetine by consumers is sure to drastically
BioVinca TM is the only vinpocetine product that has been clinically-studied. All of the
research collected here was performed using BioVincaTM (known as Cavinton® in
Europe). This product is manufactured in Europe in our GMP facility that is registered
with the FDA, and is in constant inventory in our ISO9002-certified lab. Every batch of
BioVinca TM undergoes the NutriPrintTM quality assurance system, which includes over
thirty QC tests at the manufacturing facility, following a European Pharmacopiae-

The Challenges of Aging
Increasing life span brings along the problems of aging, including intellectual decline,
brain fog, and memory loss. Perhaps the most compelling new brain supplements in
the U.S. nutraceutical market is BioVincaTM. BioVincaTM vinpocetine is a powerful
memory enhancer derived from the lesser periwinkle (Vinca minor L.). Vinpocetine has
been found to increase blood flow and increase glucose metabolism in human brains.
Vinpocetine carries an impressive body of solid scientific evidence backing claims of
cognitive enhancement in humans. Indeed, vinpocetine is the only mental dietary
supplement for which a direct mechanism of action has been proposed and scientifically
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Vinpocetine, the active constituent of BioVincaTM, has been widely studied in
humans and on animal models ( VP 1 – VP 23). Of particular interest is the observed
ability of vinpocetine to increase short-term memory and increase critical reaction
time in healthy volunteers (VP 1).
BioVincaTM increases blood flow to the brain. It accomplishes this in two
1) Reduction in flow resistance of cerebral vessels (VP 17).
2) Improve the rheological properties of blood through the inhibition of platelet
aggregation and by increasing the deformability of red blood cells of
erythrocytes (VP 14). As a result, BioVinca TM reduces blood viscosity and
3) Inhibit the enzyme phosphodiesterase. Phosphodiesterase (see figure below) is the
enzyme responsible for breaking down the molecule adenosine triphosphate (ATP) into
adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and adenosine monophosphate (AMP). ATP is the
primary energy “currency” of all biochemical reactions. Inhibiting phosphodiesterase
activity in the brain increases the levels of ATP in cells and hence increases the amount
of energy available to neurons.
As a true nootropic, the effects of BioVinca TM are confined to the brain. Accordingly,
toxicity is very low. Indeed, vinpocetine is much less toxic than other commonly-
consumed alkaloids of similar size and bioavailability (e.g., caffeine, theobromine).

Inositol – Second Messenger for the Brain
Inositol is a direct precursor of phospholipids which are a major component of cellular
membranes. It helps to maintain proper electrical energy and nutrient transfer across
the cell membrane. As a component of lecithin, Inositol helps to prevent high cholesterol
and the hardening of the arteries caused by cholesterol buildup. It is also helpful in
promoting healthy hair and the prevention of eczema.
Inositol is a simple polyol precursor in a second messenger system important in the
brain. Cerebrospinal fluid inositol has been reported as decreased in depression.
Inositol plays an important part in the health of cell membranes especially the
specialized cells in the brain, bone marrow, eyes and intestines. The function of the cell
membranes is to regulate the contents of the cells, which makes effective functioning
Inositol is said to promote healthy hair, hair growth, and helps in controlling estrogen
levels and may assist in preventing breast lumps. It may also be of benefit in reducing
blood cholesterol levels. It has therapeutic effects in the spectrum of illness responsive
to serotonin selective re-uptake inhibitors, including depression, panic and OCD, and is
not beneficial in schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s ADDH, autism or ECT-induced cognitive
DMAE – “Smart” Micro-Nutrient
DMAE is a short for dimethylaminoethanol, a naturally occurring substance that
facilitates the synthesis of a neurotransmitter acetylcholine. DMAE also may stimulate
the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine, an important component of cell membranes.
Interestingly, DMAE is far better known and researched as a "smart drug” although it is
a natural compound. In a number of studies, DMAE has been shown to reduce age-
related decline in cognitive ability and memory. It was also found to modestly increase
life span of laboratory animals. An intriguing finding in some DMAE studies was that it
reduced the accumulation of lipofuscin deposits inside cells.
Lipofuscin is a cellular pigment consisting of aggregated chunks of molecular waste. It
tends to occur in the cells of older people. It is likely that lipofuscin is not simply a
byproduct of aging but also contributes to the aging process. Neurons, heart and skin of
older people usually contain particularly large amounts of lipofiscin.
Green Tea 98% (45% ECGc) – Excellent Brain Nutrient on Multiple
Green Tea is one of the most if not the most studied micro-nutrients in history but few
people associate Green Tea Extract with brain health; however, it has incredible benefits
and a brain supplement that did not incorporate it would be incomplete.
Take polyphenols, for instance. These phyto-chemicals, which give green tea its bitter
taste, are powerful antioxidants that have been associated with preventing cancer and
heart attacks. Recent research has also shown they may help maintain positive mood
states and protect against Parkinson's disease and other brain disorders.
A study from the University of San Francisco found that the polyphenols in green tea
can boost availability of the important brain substance dopamine in the areas where it's
needed. Dopamine is a signaling substance in brain circuits that are crucial to creating
positive mood states.
It is involved in transmitting signals of reward and motivation and in helping muscles
move smoothly. Dopamine production goes awry in the brains of Parkinson's patients,
leading to the muscle rigidity and tremors associated with the disorder.
Researchers in the study measured levels of dopamine in mice before treating some of
them with polyphenols. They then injured the specific neurons linked to Parkinson's
disease in all of the mice and measured dopamine levels again. The mice treated with
polyphenols appeared to have been protected against toxic elements that may be linked
to this disease.
Other studies in animals show that the polyphenols in green tea also help the brain and
body maintain a steady supply of their chief fuel, glucose. Polyphenols influence
glucose metabolism in part by helping the body regulate sensitivity to the hormone
insulin. Compounds in green tea enhance insulin sensitivity, keeping the brain running
smoothly on steady levels of glucose.
Tannins are another important set of compounds found in green tea. They too have also
been shown to have brain boosting benefits: they may prevent the brain damage that
occurs after strokes and other brain injuries.
Tannins, like many other beneficial substances in plants, are natural compounds
produced by tea leaves in the wild to keep animals from devouring the growing plants. It
now turns out that one of the tannins found in tea leaves, gallotannin, helps the body's
own DNA repair system and keeps it working in the brain despite damage that occurs
Under normal conditions, the DNA repair system in the brain goes into overdrive in the
aftermath of stroke, and instead of helping to repair brain cells it causes them to die. But
researchers at the University of California at San Francisco found that if they surround
injured neurons with the gallotannin found in green tea, it is highly effective in
preventing neuron death.
This doesn't necessarily mean that consuming large amounts of green tea would be
sufficient to repair brain damage in stroke victims. The amount of gallotannins found in
green tea is negligible compared to the large amount used in the study.
Acetyl-L-Carnitine (Key ingredient of OxyAGE)
Acetyl-l-carnitine (also spelled as acetyl l-carnitine, or l-acetyl-l-carnitine) and carnitine
play several important roles in the human body. These nutrients shuttle acetyl groups
and fatty acids into mitochondria for energy production.
Without carnitine, fatty acids cannot easily enter into mitochondria. The acetyl group of
acetyl l carnitine is used to form acetyl-CoA, the most important intermediary in the
generation of energy from amino acids, fats, and carbohydrates. Therefore, acetyl l
carnitine serves as an energy reservoir of acetyl groups and both acetyl-l-carnitine and
carnitine help improve energy production. The acetyl group is also used to make the
important brain chemical acetylcholine. Some studies suggest that perhaps acetyl l
carnitine can even act as a neurotransmitter itself. This name of this nutrient is
sometimes abbreviated as ALC or ALCAR.
Those who take carnitine pills, usually for energy or weight loss, notice an increase in
physical energy, but not as much mental energy. Acetyl-l-carnitine has a significantly
more immediate and noticeable mental effect than carnitine because it crosses into the
brain much better. The mind boosting effect of ALC is often noticed within a few hours,
or even within an hour. Most people report feeling mentally sharper, having more focus
and being more alert. Some find a mild mood enhancement.
A phospholipid nutrient that is made of glycerophosphate skeleton through linking of
fatty acids and L-serine
Phosphatidyl Serine allows brain cells to metabolize glucose, discharges and binds
with neurotransmitters and enhances learning, memory and other cognitive functions.
Phosphatidyl choline (PC) is a fat-soluble substance known as a phospholipid.
Phospholipids are essential components of cell membranes. Phosphatidylcholine's role
in the maintenance of cell membrane integrity is vital to all of the basic biological
processes: information flow, intracellular communication, and bioenergetics. The
commercial term for PC is lecithin. When people refer to lecithin they are usually
referring to supplements high in phosphatidyl choline. Supplements labeled as lecithin
may contain from 10 to 20 PC. However, pure PC supplements are generally labeled as
In addition to providing choline needed for cell membrane integrity, PC is also an
essential component of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter required for normal brain
activity. Although the human body can synthesize choline, additional amounts from the
diet are considered essential under certain circumstances. Consequently, PC has been
employed by researchers in a number of studies for use in connection with various
neurological and psychiatric disorders. However, these studies did not draw any
conclusive results regarding PC supplementation.
Huperzine A is a potent chemical derived from a particular type of club moss ( Huperzia
serrata [Thumb] Trev.). Like caffeine and cocaine, huperzine A is a medicinally active,
plant-derived chemical that belongs to the class known as alkaloids. It was first isolated
in 1948 by Chinese scientists.
Studies in animals suggested that it could improve memory skills. These finding led to
human trials and the subsequent marketing of the huperzine A as a treatment for
Alzheimer’s disease and related conditions. It is also used as a “brain booster” for
enhancing memory and mental function.
Huperzine A inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase (uh-SEE-tul-co-lin-ES-ter-ase).
This enzyme breaks down acetylcholine, a substance that plays an important role in
mental function. When the enzyme that breaks it down is inhibited, acetylcholine levels
in the brain tend to rise.
Drugs that inhibit acetylcholinesterase (such as tacrine and donepezil) improve memory
and mental functioning in people with Alzheimer's and other severe conditions. The
research on huperzine A indicates that it works in much the same way.
The chemical action of huperzine A is very precise and specific. It "fits" into a niche on
the enzyme where acetylcholine is supposed to attach. Because huperzine A is in the
way, the enzyme can't grab and destroy acetylcholine. This mechanism has been
demonstrated by considerable scientific work, including sophisticated computer
modeling of the shape of the molecule. Huperzine may also help protect nerve cells
Natural Biology makes no claims that Brain Rocket can be used to treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA and are based entirely upon meta-analysis of
major university research. If you have any condition which you feel may be impaired by any substance,
always consult your physician prior to use, including Brain Rocket.
